I sent an email to a family who are very dear friends recently. They also happen to be very loyal and sacrificial monthly supporters. Their response ministered to me in such a huge way. I just had to brag on them and how awesome our God and Savior is. I removed their names to keep things private, but other than that the email chain is exactly the same as original. It reads like this:
“Dear (names withheld),
Thanks again, so much, for your monthly support. So much good is happening here, and you two are such a big part of it. Since our ministry started in the Village of Malitam in Batangas City,
*drug violence is no longer a weekly occurrence
*the streets are safer
* the village Capitan, police, and counsel members consider us part of them
*the addiction ministry is growing (not rapidly or not even steadily), but it’s growing
*but most of all, the “Saved” count is up over 150 now, and at least 25% of those newly saved are following through with bible study, counseling, community service and prayer meetings.
I know I don’t owe you guys a line-by-line account of what we’re doing here, but I wanted you to know that your sacrifices are making the Kingdom bigger because you are helping to make disciples just like Jesus said.”
Thanks again.
-Tracy
The response moved Teresa and I both to tears:
Tracy,
God is so good how He is working through ya’ll not only there but here on the home front as well. Just 5 minutes ago (and I’m not exaggerating), (daughter-name withheld) asked me in the car how “Mr. Tracy”and “Ms. Teresa” we’re doing. She asked when we could become missionaries like ya’ll. I told her we can start right now, by telling people here in Mayflower about Jesus. daughter‘s eyes lit up and said, “Oh mommy! I’ve already been doing that! I told someone the other day at Aunt Rachel’s gym about Jesus!”
Daughter has such a child like faith, and I absolutely love it. I remember when I was a child, our family supported a missionary family, the Paretts. They lived (and still live) in China, and we saw them every time they made it back home. To me, you are my children’s “Parett” family they will remember. My children pray for you at night at the dinner table and again before we go to bed. God may not call all of us to GO, but while we are here, we want to support you both financially and through our prayers. We love ya’ll and thank you for your servant spirits. Ya’ll are helping to teach my children what it means to obey God’s calling. Please share this news to Teresa so that she may be encouraged also! God bless ya’ll and may He continue to bless the work that He does through you both.
Sincerely,
